Trail running poles: which size should you choose?

The use of poles for trail running is becoming increasingly common. But how can you be sure to choose the right size pole? Find our advice in this article.

What size trail poles should I choose?

Whether it's clothing, shoes, or poles, when ordering online, it's not always easy to choose the right size. Don't worry, you can easily determine the size of your trail poles using the following formula:

your height in centimeters x 0.68 = pole size

Example: I am 1m75 tall
175 x 0.68 = 119
So I choose 120 cm poles.

The poles will be roughly 2/3 of your height.

In the store, you can of course try on the different sizes and choose the one that best suits your feeling.
At the start, on the flat, your elbow should form a 90° angle and your forearm should be in a horizontal position.

Guidetti trail pole size

If you choose Guidetti trail poles, here are our tips for choosing the most suitable size:

- for folding poles with fixed straps (Platinium Aero Perf / Pulse / Silver): measure from the tip to the top of the pommel

- for folding poles with detachable gauntlets (Platinium Neo Perf / Pulse / Silver): measure from the tip to the gauntlet attachment (at the screw, under the clip), i.e. 5 cm less than the total height of the pole.

- for adjustable poles (Platinium Flexo, Blight Spatio): thanks to their flap adjustment system, these models are suitable for all sizes and are sold in "one size".
